Meet Sonia Dhingra- My struggle became my purpose
Life is busy and stressful. Between work, family, and responsibilities, it's easy to put our health last. As a physician and a mom, I understand how hard it can be to prioritize ourselves while juggling everything else. Like many Desi women, I tried quick fixes - calorie counting, extreme exercise, and diet plans that never seemed to last.
As a vegetarian Desi woman, I was told weight loss should be easy for me. But it wasn't. I struggled with the same frustrations most women face until I discovered something that finally worked- a mindset-first approach.
Over-hunger is when your body isn't fat-adapted and constantly craves food for quick energy. Over-desire is when your brain urges you to eat even when you are not physically hungry, such as during stress eating or late-night cravings. Diets don't solve these problems. Mindset does.
Once I learned how to manage my thoughts, I not only lost the weight but also kept it off. Now, I help busy Desi women do the same: lose weight without giving up their favorite foods or cultural traditions, and create habits that last a lifetime.
Our Mission
Empowering women to create lasting health through mindset shifts, cultural awareness, and the clarity to care for their mind, body, and well-being with love and purpose—while honoring and gently challenging the cultural norms that no longer serve them.
Our Vision
A world where women lead conscious, intentional lives—rooted in love, guided by wisdom, and in harmony with their mind, body, and well-being.
Our Core Values
At Kapaso Life, our values are shaped not only by evidence-based wellness—but by lived experience, cultural nuance, and the deeply rooted norms many women carry. We honor these complexities while guiding women toward clarity, freedom, and conscious transformation.
Commitment
We show up fully—for ourselves and those we serve. Transformation takes time, and we’re here for the long haul.
Connection
We lead with heart. True change begins in real, meaningful relationships—with ourselves and with others.
Curiosity
We ask, explore, and stay open. Growth begins when we replace judgment with gentle, honest inquiry.
Courage
We honor the discomfort that comes with change. It takes bravery to break patterns, set boundaries, and choose a new path—and we walk it together.
